Offerings
In Traditional Chinese medicine, acupuncture is often used to help bring balance to the body. Acupuncture uses small, sterile steel needles to stimulate the nervous system and promote the body’s natural healing system. This can be used in musculoskeletal conditions, as well as internal conditions such as digestive issues, stress, anxiety, sleeping disorders, skin issues, and much more.
This is where we get to know you and understand what’s really going on in your body. We’ll take a deeper look at your pain, health history, lifestyle, and habits so we can get to the root cause—not just the symptoms.
From there, we build a clear understanding of your body and create a treatment plan that’s tailored to help you move, feel, and function better.
To support peak performance and deeper recovery, we sometimes use a gentle electromagnetic pulse through the needles to enhance the body’s response.
This is especially helpful for chronic musculoskeletal conditions, or when a more intensive treatment is needed to help you move, perform, and feel better.
Tuina is a traditional Chinese medicine technique which uses manual manipulation (similar to massage). Treatments mainly target musculoskeletal conditions and can be used in combination with Acupuncture and other modalities to free up muscles, knots and tension in the body.
Cupping is a traditional Chinese medicine tool used to spread and pull muscles creating them to stretch and loosen. The idea behind this is to promote blood flow in the area being worked. Practitioners may also use this to activate meridian channels and pull dampness out of the body.
About us…
Hi, I'm Jake.
Great to meet you! I am the founder and operator of The Qi House, and a student Chinese medicine practitioner.
My journey with Chinese medicine began in 2018, when I was working as a suspended ceiling fixer in Wānaka. For a couple of years, I struggled with severe musculoskeletal pain in my back and shoulders from repetitive strain.
In the trades, there’s a real “get on with it” mentality, something I’m now proudly working to help change. Over the last few years, I've gained extensive experience with acupuncture and other forms of holistic medicine and have committed to a Bachelor of Health Science with a major in acupuncture, to help you achieve the balanced, pain-free life you deserve.
Schedule your appointment with me today and experience the highest standard of personalised care. I’m committed to supporting your journey toward optimal well-being.
Thanks, Jake.
